Fall is just around the corner and we don’t need to wait until it’s official arrival on September 23rd to enjoy some traditional fall adventures. Here’s a roundout up of Fall Festivals in Rochester, NY.

Fringe Festival (Sept. 10-21st)

What? 575 shows? 25 venues? The good news is that some of them are absolutely free! But what exactly is the Fringe Festival. We are glad you asked. Here’s the scoop from their website:

” In case you missed the past seven Fringes, allow us to catch you up. Quickly. Starting this year, the Fringe will be a 12-day, all-out, no-holds-barred, multi-disciplinary visual and performing arts festival featuring international, national and local artists. It showcases theater (physical, street, musical), comedy, visual arts, family entertainment, music, dance, spoken word, opera, poetry, literature and experiences that have yet to even be imagined! “

Put your seatbelt on folks. This year’s festival will not disappoint!

Irondequoit Oktoberfest

Nothing says Fall like an Oktoberfest in September. You can still catch the second weekend of the festival and a harvest moon– who knew! Here’s the details:


Guten Tag! Camp Eastman is the place to be as we celebrate two fun-filled weekends at the 32nd Annual Oktoberfest in the huge, one-acre tent!

Rochester Hard Cider and Donut Festival- Sept. 14

Okay, maybe you’re move of a hard cider guy or donut girl. We’ve got you covered with this festival on the East End!

Foodlink Festival of Food- Sept. 16

If you’re looking to go fall festin’ for a good cause don’t miss this event. Here’s the details from Foodlink:

“Support Foodlink at Upstate New York’s largest tasting event, Festival of Food. Join Foodlink on Monday, September 16th from 6-9 pm, at the City of Rochester Public Market for a celebration of the region’s agricultural bounty and culinary talent. Enjoy tastings from over 100 local restaurants, wineries, breweries, bakeries and farms. All proceeds benefit Foodlink, the regional food bank serving Central and Western New York for over 30 years. Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door, VIP is $75 in advance only. Each attendee receives a wine glass, tasting plate and unlimited free samples! Tickets are available at Wegmans, and Foodlinkny.org

Hilton Applefest October 5 & 6

In it’s 39th year, this festival will not disappoint. Browse the brochure and make a plan for a great apple adventure!

Letchworth Arts and Crafts Show: October 12-14

It’s in its 43rd year and it’s rated one of the top 50 festivals in the United States! According to their website, here’s what you can look forward to:

“Enjoy peak fall foliage at the spectacular “Grand Canyon of the East” along with the best in pottery, paintings, quilts and fiber arts, handcrafted jewelry, photography, furniture, decorative painting, dried floral pieces and more — just in time for holiday gift shopping. Over 300 artisans display their wares along with plenty of food vendors and many other activities for the whole family. Live music performances and demonstrations are scheduled each day.”
